Rayman Origins :: The Game - Press comments - 2010

Rayman is back !! - Rayman Origins begins episodic journey 'this year'

Press comments :: joystiq.com
Rayman Origins in development from Michel Ancel, is 2D and beautiful. Origins will be delivered as episodes "because big games take a long time to make" and "episodes also let us imagine a longer and more developed saga than with a more 'classical' format." www.joystiq.com

E3 2010: Rayman Origins Revealed The classic platformer is back. Yes, the classic 2D platformer is back with an incredible art style and absolutely jaw-dropping visuals. The trailer, which moves into actual gameplay, looks entirely reminiscent of the original Rayman games but with a much sharper, ethereal look. Rayman isn't the only character on display, though -- a blue-skinned character is also in on the mischief, as the two confront a massive stone giant together and punch his face to bits. This leads us to believe that there will be co-op play of some kind, though nothing official was announced.
Rayman Origins wasn't given any other details besides this gameplay footage. But as the development team is only five people (who are likely supremely talented, considering how nice the footage looked), we presume that this will be a downloadable game for the
PS3 and 360 (and possibly on the PC).

During its packed E3 conference overnight, Ubisoft revealed that old mascot Rayman is making a comeback. What's more, Another World designer Eric Chahi is working on a game called Project Dust. Both are digital distribution titles by the looks of it. Rayman Origins has no release date but is looking very pretty in its trailer below. According to Ubisoft bossman Yves Gullemot, a team of just five people have been working on the game, which has hand-drawn, cel-shaded 2D visuals and classic platforming gameplay. Rayman hasn't really been seen much since the Raving Rabbids took over his franchise and then dispensed with him. Poor old Rayman.

Rayman Origins: New Trailer, Screenshots & Official Facebook Group. While everyone is buzzing about E3, and all the news that is coming from Microsoft with the new Xbox 360 Slim & Kinetic, Ubisoft dropped a bombshell of it’s own and announced that a new Rayman title is in the works. Rayman Origins will see Rayman return in a new 2D adventure, alongside a second on-screen character. But that does not mean that there will be co-operative play, as it has not being announced yet. We are also still to find out what platforms Rayman Origins will be released on, aswell as an official release date. But you have to bet your bottom dollar it will be made available for all major consoles. PS3 might even get the exclusive. http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/15/rayman-origins-new-trailer-screenshots-official-facebook-group/
